A Suzuki GSX-R1000 sportbike has the performance of a $440,000 Porsche Carrera GT, but at a tiny fraction of the price and fuel consumption. The reason, of course, is the much smaller mass of the motorcycle.

And Steve Christini, the designer and builder of the Christini AWD bicycle, is developing a two-wheel drive motorcycle as well. Such a machine could perhaps become the most efficient and nimble multi-terrain motor vehicle ever built, being potentially street-legal (unlike a four-wheel ATV) while still allowing nature enthusiasts to get to remote areas without traveling in gas-guzzling four-wheel drive vehicles, which are too wide for foot-trails anyway.
